Overview

TFG procures merchandise from numerous countries and has a commitment to promote and respect internationally accepted human rights. We also have a set of values that represent the highest standard of quality, integrity, excellence, compliance with the law and respect for unique customs and cultures of the communities from we procure merchandise. Our suppliers are required to promote and respect these internationally accepted human rights and support and follow the group’s values.

We recognise our limitations and ability to influence change on the world stage. Therefore, our efforts are focussed on areas which are within our direct influence such as the rights of employees and the workers who manufacture the product we procure.

Human Rights Statement

This statement is supported by international human rights principles aimed at promoting and protecting human rights including the United Nations Global Compact Principles, the International Labour Organisation’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Furthermore, this statement is supported by TFG’s Codes of Business Ethics and Conduct, TFG’s standard merchandise and non-merchandise terms and conditions (both local and international) as well as applicable local and international laws.

TFG Design & Manufacturing

To grow the capacity of TFG Design and Manufacturing, we have established two regional manufacturing hubs in South Africa – one in the Western Cape and another in KwaZulu-Natal. These hubs were made possible by leveraging strategic relationships with partners along our local supply chain. We have built two world-class quick response facilities – Prestige Clothing in Caledon and Maitland – which currently employ over 1 200 people. We invest in supplier development and upskilling; and this approach applies across our supply chain and links fabric mills, manufacturer, suppliers and our retail brands.

There is a focus on enhancing local design capability and improving our ability to react to in-demand, in-season sales. We invest in world-class automation and semi automation energy-efficient manufacturing equipment.
