Employment Equity

TFG recognises the impact of equal employment opportunities and believes that appropriate employment equity and skills development goals should be set, plans prepared and implemented and other relevant and appropriate measures taken, to ensure greater participation from the designated groups at all occupational levels of the organisation. TFG’s values underpin the above principles.

The Management team of TFG is committed to equity, diversity and skills development and will ensure through the implementation of these plans that the people that it employs eventually reflect the demographics of the region and the country and have the skills and expertise to uphold the culture of excellence ascribed to by TFG.

The representation of employment equity employees to total employees has increased 0.972 percentage points from 93.22% in 2017 to 93.91% in 2018.

Although all other targets were met, employment equity progress at a senior management level continues to be a key strategic focus area.

We see progress with leadership pipelines created to develop internal employment equity employees for future senior management roles, and have continued to allocate TFG share incentives since 2012 to key employment equity middle management employees as part of our strategy to recognise and retain top calibre equity talent.

We have made progress with the employment of disabled employees through learnerships and this will continue to be our focus going forward.
